An effective research trail would enable us to discover what makes a successful indie/pop music video, CD cover and advertisement. In order to produce such a video we will be looking into analysing moving image by interpreting camera shots, angle and movement, editing and cutting techniques, lighting and mise-en-scene. The influence from this would allow us to produce a popular appealing music video which captivates the target audience.
To create the digipak we would look into the relationship between the artist, audience and advertisement. This would then show a clear house style between the CD cover and advertisment ad.
Target market research would ebable us to aim the music video and digipak at particular audience. We would gather information of the target audience from conducted questionnaires from which we would know what their general interests and hobbies are, as well as what they demand for a popualr music video.
We have chosen to film our music video to the song The Kook's 'She Moves In Her Own Way'. We took inspiration from the this genre of music and The Kooks themselves because the similar audince and target market we want to aim our music video at. Their upbeat, catchy songs mean that the tempo and style of the song can be reflected the video in camera shots, pace of shots, angles and house style which the audeice can relate too. The song gives us access to many different ways of interpretation and because of this a mix of both narritive and performance in the music video, the lyrics are young and about teenage love which can be easily related to by the target market.
